Tile Trims and Edge Profiles
Square edge and straight edge trims in aluminium, stainless steel, chrome and PVC, suitable for ceramic, porcelain and natural stone. Finishes include bright chrome, brushed chrome, brushed gunmetal and white, for bathrooms, wetrooms, kitchens and commercial projects. Trade packs are available on selected lines. Current brands include A-Trim, Beava, Genesis and MILLCOT.
Expansion and Movement Joints
Movement joints absorb thermal expansion, shrinkage and structural movement so tiles and adhesive bonds stay intact. They are used at perimeters, over structural joints, around fixed objects and across large tiled areas, including floors with underfloor heating. Follow BS 5385 guidance and the tile and adhesive manufacturer's recommendations when planning joint positions.
Choosing the Right Profile
- Material: aluminium for general use, stainless steel where corrosion resistance matters in wet areas, PVC for internal finishes and vinyl to tile capping.
- Size: match the trim height to the tile thickness so the profile sits flush.
- Finish: choose a finish that complements taps, shower fittings and other hardware in the room.
- Location: internal or external corner, wall edge, or floor transition between surfaces.
