Description
The Genesis ESA225 Outdoor Aluminium Straight Edge Tile Trim is a 22.5mm deep, L-shaped extruded aluminium profile designed for the thicker tiles and slabs used on balconies, terraces, patios and other external areas. It protects the exposed tile edge and gives a clean, modern finish, in a choice of anodised and stone-effect finishes.

Choose your finish from the Finish option. The profile is bedded into tile adhesive and works with ceramic, porcelain and natural stone tiles. Make sure the profile is fully embedded with no voids, as cement-based materials can corrode aluminium if left in contact for extended periods. What tile thickness is the ESA225 for?
It has a 22.5mm height, so it suits thick porcelain paving and outdoor tiles around that thickness. For thinner tiles see our standard Genesis ESA range.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes, the ESA225 is part of the Genesis Outdoor, Balcony and Landscaping range, designed for external areas such as balconies, terraces and patios.
How do I fix it?
Apply adhesive with a notched trowel, bed the profile in so that adhesive comes through the flange holes, and spread adhesive over the top of the flange before laying the tiles. A grout gap is not required, but if the joint is visible make sure grout is compressed firmly into it.
Why is the Mill Finish a different length?
The Mill Finish (natural aluminium) is supplied in 2.7m lengths. All other finishes are 2.5m.
How do I keep the finish looking good?
Remove adhesive, mortar and grout residue promptly. Clean with a pH-neutral detergent or diluted colourless alcohol and a soft cloth, and avoid acidic cleaners and abrasive pads.
Can I cut it to length?
Yes, use a fine-tooth hacksaw or metal-cutting blade and file the end smooth.
