Millcot stocks a focused range of professional tile backer boards for walls and floors in wet areas, including our own-brand XPS tile backer board range and the Multi-Pro fibre cement board. All boards in this range are moisture-resistant, dimensionally stable and suitable as tile substrates in bathrooms, shower enclosures and wetrooms.
Unlike heavier fibre cement alternatives from brands such as Marmox, Wedi or Schluter Kerdi-Board, our lightweight tile backer board options combine ease of handling with excellent structural performance. The XPS (extruded polystyrene) foam core provides inherent thermal insulation — a benefit over fibre-cement-only systems, particularly where the board forms part of an underfloor heating build-up. Tiles can be applied directly using a suitable S1 flexible tile adhesive.
This collection includes the Tile Backer Insulation Board (XPS foam core, 6mm), the Multi-Pro Tile Backer Board (fibre cement, 6mm), and compatible fixing screws and washers for mechanical fixing to timber and steel stud frames.
