Description
ARDEX A 46 is a rapid-setting, polymer-modified concrete repair mortar for the non-structural repair and refacing of damaged concrete, render, brickwork and similar cement-based surfaces. It sets within 30 minutes and, in good conditions, can take further coatings, levelling compounds or ceramic tiles in as little as 4 hours — keeping a live site moving without a multi-day wait.
Slump-free and shrinkage-compensated, it holds firm on vertical and overhead surfaces without sagging, resists cracking as it cures, and finishes to a smooth, paintable surface that blends into the surrounding concrete. Apply from 2mm up to 30mm in a single application; for localised repairs up to 50mm, bulk out with sharp sand or ARDEX aggregate as directed on the technical datasheet.
Supplied as an 11kg bag.
Why tradespeople reach for A 46
- Fast turnaround — sets within 30 minutes; ready for tiling or further coatings in as little as 4 hours in good conditions
- Goes anywhere on the job — slump-free formula holds firm on vertical and overhead surfaces

- Built to last — shrinkage-compensated for a crack-free, durable non-structural repair
- Freeze-thaw and salt resistant — and suitable for use over underfloor heating systems
What it's for
Filling cracks, gaps and holes; repairing and refacing concrete stair treads and risers; damaged brickwork (excluding lightweight concrete) and wall renders; making good on wall chases and around pipework, door and window frames; forming ramps from 2mm to 30mm and coves for floors; and repairing soffits, beams and lintels. Also suitable as a wearing surface in lightly trafficked areas. For non-structural repair of concrete only — for example, patching or refacing a structural column, not repairing structural damage to it.
Coverage: approximately 4m² at 2mm thickness per 11kg unit.
