Description

Validus Altus is a fibre-reinforced, rapid-setting, cement-based self-levelling compound engineered for professional floor preparation. This full-pallet trade deal supplies 42 x 20kg bags (840kg) of Altus at a discounted pallet price, ideal for larger tiling, flooring and wetroom projects where a fast, flat and hard-wearing subfloor is essential.

Polymer-modified and reinforced with microfibres, Altus smooths and levels differing subfloor heights from 3mm up to 50mm in a single application. Its high flexural strength and fibre content make it particularly suited to underfloor heated floors and timber substrates, while rapid curing allows foot traffic in as little as 3 hours to keep site programmes moving.

Key Benefits

  • Fibre-reinforced for added strength and crack resistance
  • Flexible, polymer-modified formulation suitable for underfloor heating
  • Fast curing - accepts foot traffic after approximately 3 hours
  • Applies from 3mm to 50mm in a single pass
  • Can be pump applied or hand applied for fast coverage
  • Low VOC emissions for a healthier working environment
  • Full pallet trade pricing - lower cost per bag

Applications

Validus Altus is used by professional tilers, flooring contractors, bathroom and wetroom fitters, and builders to create flat, absorbent, high-strength surfaces prior to installing natural stone, ceramic and porcelain tiles, as well as textile and elastic (vinyl, carpet, LVT) floor finishes. Suitable substrates include timber and plywood overlays, old substrates with bonded adhesive and levelling residues, and the restoration and repair of wooden floors, screeds and substrates in both old and new construction. For interior use only.

Depending on the substrate, prime the surface first with Validus Para or Validus Tenaci and allow to dry before application.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Validus Altus suitable for use over underfloor heating?
Yes. Its high flexural strength and fibre reinforcement make it ideal for use over underfloor heated screeds and floors.

What thickness can Altus be applied at?
Altus can be applied from 3mm up to 50mm in a single application, making it suitable for both fine smoothing and deeper levelling.

How soon can I walk on it?
The floor will typically accept foot traffic after around 3 hours, depending on site conditions, thickness and temperature.

Can it be pump applied?
Yes. Altus can be pump applied for fast coverage on larger areas, or mixed and poured by hand for smaller jobs.

Do I need to prime the substrate first?
Yes. Depending on the substrate, prime with Validus Para or Validus Tenaci and allow to dry before applying Altus. Always ensure substrates are clean, dry and load-bearing.

What surfaces can Altus be used on?
It is suitable for timber and plywood overlays, old substrates with bonded adhesive residues, screeds, and the repair of wooden floors, prior to tiling or laying resilient floor finishes. Interior use only.
