ThermoSphere HDF Overlay Boards are 7mm high-density fibreboard panels fitted above ThermoSphere Heating Foil, required whenever the finished floor covering is anything other than engineered timber 10mm thick or more.

Applications
Used above ThermoSphere Heating Foil wherever the final floor covering is carpet, vinyl, laminate, or engineered timber under 10mm thick.

Fitted above the cushioning overlay and heating foil, the HDF board spreads point loads and protects the heating elements beneath floor finishes that need a firmer, load-bearing surface.
Compatibility
Designed for use with the ThermoSphere Heating Foil (WCVF-140) range, in addition to the standard Cushioning Underlay and Overlay.

When do I need HDF Overlay Boards?
Whenever your floor finish is anything other than engineered timber 10mm thick or more — for example carpet, vinyl or thinner timber.
Do I still need the cushioning overlay as well?
Yes, the HDF board is an additional layer on top of the standard cushioning underlay and overlay, not a replacement for them.
How much coverage does one pack give?
Each pack covers 2.88m² (4 pairs of boards) — calculate packs needed based on your total floor area.
