Description

The ThermoSphere Heating Cable Kit is a loose-wire electric underfloor heating cable, fixed to the subfloor at the required spacing and then covered with flexible tile adhesive or self-levelling compound beneath ceramic, porcelain and natural stone tiles.

Applications

Performance & Features

The cable is stuck down to the floor using fixing tape or a fixing strip at a spacing calculated to deliver the desired heat output. Once the cable is fixed in place, it is covered with flexible tile adhesive or self-levelling compound before tiling.

Compatibility

Requires a compatible ThermoSphere thermostat, such as the T-MO, and is typically installed with a fixing strip or tape to hold the cable spacing during installation.

FAQs

How is this different to the mesh systems?
The cable kit is a loose length of cable you fix out and space by hand, giving more flexibility for awkward shapes, whereas the mesh comes pre-spaced on a roll for faster laying in regular rooms.

Can this go directly under tiles?
Yes. The cable is stuck down to the floor first, then covered with flexible tile adhesive or self-levelling compound before the tiles are laid. It is not bedded into the adhesive as you fix it.

What length do I need?
Choose the cable length that matches your calculated floor area and desired spacing — contact us if you need help sizing a run.

Do I need a thermostat?
Yes, a compatible thermostat with a floor sensor is required and sold separately.

Is it suitable for wetrooms?
Yes, the cable is IP68 rated and suitable for bathrooms, showers and wetrooms when installed to the manufacturer's guidance.
