Description

Mapei Mapeguard UM 35 is a high-performance waterproofing, uncoupling and anti-fracture membrane for the installation of ceramic and natural stone tiles on problematic substrates. Engineered in Italy by Mapei, one of the world's leading names in tile installation systems, UM 35 protects tiled finishes from substrate movement, cracking and moisture damage in both domestic and commercial environments.

Supplied in 30m x 1m polyethylene rolls, Mapeguard UM 35 features a dimpled profile that creates a secure mechanical key with flexible tile adhesives, while the fabric reverse provides excellent adhesion to the substrate. The membrane decouples the tiles from the subfloor, absorbing structural movement and preventing it from telegraphing through to the tile and grout above.

UM 35 is ideal for laying tiles over cracked or damp screeds, anhydrite floors, timber substrates and other surfaces where movement or residual moisture would normally cause tile failure. It is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems and suitable for use on internal floors, walls, balconies and terraces.

As a waterproof membrane, Mapeguard UM 35 also forms part of a certified wetroom and waterproofing build-up — protecting the substrate from water ingress in bathrooms, shower areas and external tiled surfaces.
