Description
Larsen Integral Liquid Waterproofer 5L is a ready-to-use, pink-pigmented liquid admixture for sand/cement mortars, renders and concrete. Unlike a surface coating, it works internally — blended into the mix at gauging stage, where it inhibits the passage of liquid water through the capillary and pore network of the cured material. The result is a denser, more water-resistant mortar or render that still allows the structure to breathe.
The pink pigment is a visual indicator of correct dosing — once mixed through, the operator can see at a glance that the additive has been evenly distributed before the mix is laid. Chloride-free and non-retarding, it works equally well with all standard Portland cements and rapid-set blends without compromising setting times or finished strength.
Designed for use in external renders, garden walls, retaining masonry and below-DPC brickwork, where moisture penetration through the substrate is the primary risk. The vapour-permeable formulation means trapped moisture isn't an issue — the structure can still dry out through the surface, avoiding the spalling and frost damage that comes with sealed waterproof coatings on breathable substrates.
Note: this product reduces water penetration but does not resist hydrostatic pressure. For tanking applications below ground or beneath tiled wetroom floors, pair it with a dedicated tanking membrane system rather than relying on the admixture alone.
