Trowel adhesive over the tile perimeter, press the perforated anchoring leg into the adhesive and align it, then trowel more adhesive over the leg for full coverage. Embed the tiles so the profile sits level with, or up to about 1mm below, the tile surface, then fill the joint with grout.

Yes, use a fine-tooth hacksaw or a metal-cutting blade and file the end smooth.
How do I keep the finish looking good?
Remove adhesive and grout residue promptly and clean with a pH-neutral detergent and a soft cloth. Avoid acidic cleaners and abrasive pads.
