Description
ARDEX K 40 HB is a fibre-reinforced, high-build self-levelling compound for anyone facing an uneven subfloor that needs real depth of fill — not just a skim. It levels and smooths, in a single application, from 3mm right up to a full 40mm, and is suitable for most new and existing internal subfloors including concrete, cement/sand and anhydrite screeds, stone, terrazzo, ceramic tiles and suitable timber floors (subject to priming as detailed on the technical datasheet).
An extended 30-minute working time means trowel marks drop out easily, and fresh material can be trowelled into existing pre-applied material up to 30 minutes after application — with little to no extra prep before floorcovering. Despite the generous open time, K 40 HB hardens fast — walkable in as little as 2 hours regardless of thickness, so live sites and multi-trade projects keep moving with minimal disruption.
Why tradespeople reach for K 40 HB
- Deep-fill in one pass — a genuine 3mm to 40mm working range in a single application
- Walk on after 2 hours — regardless of depth, keeping the programme on track
- Extended 30-minute working time — trowel fresh material into existing pours up to 30 minutes after application
- Fibre-reinforced — added strength and flexibility at high-build thicknesses
- Fast floorcovering turnaround — fix ceramic tile after 2 hours, resilient and timber floorcoverings after 6 hours at up to 5mm, and full-depth 40mm pours after 48 hours
- Underfloor heating compatible — suitable for use over commissioned UFH systems once brought back to room temperature before application
