Description
ARDEX A 29 is a rapid-hardening cement for producing internal and external floor screeds, formulated to get ceramic tiles down in as little as 24 hours on a bonded screed — without compromising on strength. Mixed at a true 1:7 ratio with screeding sand, it suits most normal screeding situations and can be applied as a bonded, unbonded or floating screed.
With up to 90 minutes of working time, there's no need to rush the mix, placing, compaction or trowelling off. Once laid, A 29 hardens fast — walkable in approximately 8 hours — and passes the BRE (ISCR) Screed Test in as little as 24 hours. It's compatible with underfloor heating systems and can be pumped for faster application on larger jobs. Supplied in 20kg bags.

Drying and floorcovering times
A bonded A 29 screed is normally ready for ceramic tiles after 24 hours. Unbonded and floating screeds need 7 days' drying (or a moisture reading below 2% by the Carbide method) before tiling. Natural stone can be fixed after 7 days, and resilient or wood floorcoverings after 7 days, or once a sub-2% moisture reading is confirmed. Times are based on 23°C and 50% relative humidity for screeds up to 50mm thick — low temperatures slow hardening, high temperatures speed it up.
