Which ARDEX grout?
- ARDEX-FLEX FL
- Flexible cement-based tile grout for wider joints. The calculator accepts joint widths from 3 to 15 mm. MILLCOT pack sizes: 10kg, 2.5kg, depending on colour.
- ARDEX-FLEX FS
- Flexible cement-based tile grout for narrow joints. The calculator accepts joint widths from 1 to 4 mm. MILLCOT pack sizes: 10kg, 2.5kg, depending on colour.
- ARDEX EG 18 PLUS
- Epoxy tile grout and adhesive, supplied as a complete 4 kg kit. The calculator accepts joint widths from 2 to 12 mm and works in whole kits.
Worked example
20 m² of 600 × 600 mm tiles with 3 mm wide joints filled to a depth of 10 mm:
- ARDEX-FLEX FL: 0.175 kg/m², 3.5 kg 2 × 2.5 kg bags or 1 × 10 kg bag
- ARDEX-FLEX FS: 0.15 kg/m², 3.0 kg 2 × 2.5 kg bags or 1 × 10 kg bag
- ARDEX EG 18 PLUS: 0.17 kg/m², 3.4 kg 1 × 4 kg kit

Does the estimate include wastage?
No. The estimate excludes site wastage. Allow for losses and site conditions when ordering. Actual usage varies with tile texture, joint depth and application.
What is joint depth?
It is the depth of the joint to be filled with grout, in millimetres. Enter the depth you will actually be filling, as a whole number.
Which joint widths does the calculator accept?
ARDEX-FLEX FL: 3 to 15 mm. ARDEX-FLEX FS: 1 to 4 mm. ARDEX EG 18 PLUS: 2 to 12 mm. Enter the joint width specified for your installation. The calculator estimates coverage only and does not tell you which grout or joint width is suitable for your tiles or substrate.
How are pack sizes handled?
Choose the pack size you want to buy and the calculated requirement is rounded up to whole packs of that size. ARDEX-FLEX FL and FS pack sizes vary by colour, so only the colours stocked in your chosen size are offered. Actual coverage can vary with site conditions.
Is the ARDEX EG 18 PLUS figure for the whole kit?
Yes. ARDEX EG 18 PLUS is calculated in complete 4 kg kits. The calculator does not work out separate quantities of the individual components.
Can I use this calculator for other grouts?
No. The figures are specific to ARDEX-FLEX FL, ARDEX-FLEX FS and ARDEX EG 18 PLUS. Other grouts have different coverage rates, so the result will not be accurate for them.
